The MPS Approach to Learning
Students receive instruction based upon standards of excellence that utilize research and evidence-based strategies and models. We strongly believe that every child can learn. Through their acquired knowledge and skills they will be able to solve problems in an information rich society, and tackle the challenge of performing at their highest level.
Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide a firm academic foundation that incorporates meaningful, rigorous, instructional activities including exposure to skill development in the arts, music and sport.
Our approach to learning is based on the same principles as outlined for our senior school at Temi. The signature pedagogies and the high impact teaching strategies are constructed and applied in an age appropriate manner. There are “Key Focus Areas” that are consistently worked on in all classes, and teachers must always keep in mind that the child is the center of our teaching and learning.
Even at the primary level, our belief about all round development means educating not only the mind, but the heart as well. All primary teachers are certified to teach the Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning curriculum developed at Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics (USA). His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, has been the inspiration behind this program.
