Exploring Science, Innovation, and Anime Art Beyond the Classroom

Learning becomes truly meaningful when students experience it beyond the walls of the classroom. Our students recently embarked on an enriching educational visit to National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology and AAMA Studio — a journey filled with innovation, creativity, and hands-on exploration. At NIELIT, Pakyong, students were introduced to the fascinating world of advanced technology. Under the guidance of Mr. Sachin Mangar (Senior Faculty) and enthusiastic interns, they explored several state-of-the-art facilities including the AR/VR Lab, IoT Lab, India AI & Data Lab, and the E-Waste Lab. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to real-world applications of science and technology, helping them connect classroom learning with practical community-based innovations. The journey then continued to AAMA Studio, Sikkim’s first Anime and Manga Training Institute, founded by Mr. Dewaker Basnet. Here, students immersed themselves in a vibrant environment of imagination and artistic expression. They learned about anime creation and participated in creative activities such as painting on clay plates. The eco-friendly studio, built using rammed earth and inspired by Japanese-style architecture, offered a unique blend of art, culture, and sustainability amidst the beauty of nature. The educational excursion was truly a memorable experience where learning met exploration. Students returned inspired, informed, and filled with new ideas, making the trip both meaningful and unforgettable.
