Building a Kinder Tomorrow: MPS Concludes ‘Pawsitive Future’ Animal Welfare Drive

Manjusri Public School’s Science Department successfully organised the “Pawsitive Future” Vaccination & Sterilization Drive on 4–5 August 2026, promoting animal welfare, community service and responsible pet care. In collaboration with the SARAH Programme, Government of Sikkim, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Temi–Tarku GPU and BDO Office, the initiative provided essential health services to animals in the school and surrounding community. As part of the programme, an awareness session on responsible pet ownership and rabies prevention was conducted at Panchayat Bhawan, Tarku. A medical team led by Dr. Nishika Gurung vaccinated and sterilized 65 animals—57 dogs and 8 cats, including stray and owned pets. The initiative also gave students an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom while developing empathy, scientific awareness and social responsibility. MPS extends its gratitude to all the officials, medical professionals, student volunteers, staff and partners whose support made this initiative a meaningful step towards a safer, healthier and more compassionate community.
